Consumer Reports & Univision.com Sign Content Distribution Agreement.

Consumers Union, publisher of Consumer Reports magazine and ConsumerReports.org, and Univision Online announced a premium content distribution agreement to distribute Consumer Reports unbiased and objective product ratings and buying advice on Univision Online. As part of the agreement, Univision Online has integrated free buying tips from Consumer Reports into Univision.com and will work with ConsumerReports.org on multiple initiatives in the US Hispanic market.

Adding free Consumer Reports autos and electronics buying advice into Univision.com marks the first time this content is available in Spanish on the Web. “This business relationship with Univision Online enables Consumer Reports to reach one of the fastest-growing audiences on the Web,” said John Sateja, vice president of Multi-Media Publishing at Consumers Union. “This relationship also gives Consumer Reports the ability to extend our brand online, and develop new relationships with Hispanic consumers in addition to the more than one million online subscribers we currently serve at our Web site — ConsumerReports.org.”

The free information contains general summaries of autos and electronics articles, buying advice and information including product trends. Consumers also have the option to subscribe to ConsumerReports.org. The subscription provides in-depth buying advice, performance ratings and information about key features and brand reliability on all the products rated by Consumer Reports for the last four years, similar to the information in Consumer Reports magazine. Users will have access to dynamic information as it is updated by Consumer Reports. Consumers can conveniently purchase these subscriptions to CR’s English language web site from Univision.com by using Uniclave — or keyword: Consumer Reports.

“Our research shows that Hispanic consumers demand trusted information and resources to help them make well-informed buying decisions,” said Javier Saralegui, President of Univision Online. “Consumer Reports has established itself as one of the most popular and trusted sites on the Web, and we are pleased to offer their content to our large audience of Hispanic consumers.”
