Entravision Communications ‘Radio Tricolor’ & ‘La Consentida’ Radio Formats Debut In Albuquerque.

Entravision Radio, a division of Entravision Communications Corporation, announced two format changes in the Albuquerque market. KRZY 105.9 FM, which previously aired the Radio Romántica format, has shifted to Radio Tricolor, a regional Mexican format that has been featured on Entravision’s KRZY 1450 AM for the past six years. KRZY 105.9 FM also welcomes nationally recognized entertainer and personality Eddie “Piolín” Sotelo as its host during the morning drive. KRZY 1450 AM will shift to La Consentida, a Spanish oldies format presenting nostalgic Mexican music.

Mary Ellen Merrigan, General Manager of the stations said, “Entravision Radio is committed to providing our listeners with the Spanish-language music they want. And, as a result of increasingly strong listener demand for the music featured on our Radio Tricolor format, we made the decision to move it to the stronger FM signal. This move not only enables us to better serve our listeners and advertisers, but it also opens the door for us to present the Albuquerque market with our increasingly popular La Consentida format, offering a broader spectrum of music to the market’s Latino community.

Launched late last year, Entravision’s La Consentida format is unlike any other heard on Spanish-language radio. An oldies format with Mexican roots, La Consentida targets the adult 25-plus audience with hits from Vicente Fernandez, Jose Alfredo Jimenez, Pedro Infante, Yolanda del Rio, Gerardo Reyes, Los Freddy’s and many more.
