AOL 8.0 Launches.

America Online, Inc. unveiled AOL 8.0 the newest version of its convenient and easy-to-use flagship service. AOL 8.0 increases its offerings to it’s 4.3 million Hispanic members (Source: Simmons Hispanic Study 2001) by enhancing the access and content of its Spanish language programming on AOL KEYWORD:LATINO. AOL Spanish speaking members will be able to have headlines of news, sports, entertainment and other features on a special section of the Welcome Screen and will be one click away from additional programming in Spanish available at AOL Latino.
New features of particular importance to our Hispanic members
One of the main reasons why Hispanics subscribe to AOL is for their kids and the education benefits the AOL service provides them. With 8.0, AOL is making it even easier for parents to keep their kids safe online with improved Parental Controls that will enable them to monitor their children’s visits to the Internet from outside the home. In addition, through AOL Guardian they will be able to receive a report card with specific information about the sites their children visited and their email activity.
AOL’s communication services are also particularly important to our Hispanic members, the new enhancements make email and instant messaging easier than ever, with new features that sort e-mail by known and unknown senders, provide fun ways to personalize the instant messenger with self expression icons and music and search online chats with MatchChat which allows members to easily find chats on subjects of interest to them.
Enhanced services and Programming in Spanish
In order to better service Spanish speaking members and potential members of AOL, AOL has added KEYWORD: AYUDA, where they will be able to find helpful information on the GUIA RAPIDA about AOL’s most popular features and services. Additionally, AOL will be offers Spanish language customer service assistance through 1-800-771-7084 for those members with questions about the service or about downloading the new AOL 8.0 software. In November members will also be able to download AOL 8.0 in Spanish on KEYWORD: NUEVO AOL 8.0.
