AAF Awarded ‘Outstanding Website’ WebAward.

The American Advertising Federation (AAF) today announced that its Web site, http://www.aaf.org , has received an “Outstanding Website WebAward” by the Web Marketing Association. The WebAwards Competition is the premier event where corporations and organizations compete within their industry and against an overall standard of excellence.

For nearly 100 years, the American Advertising Federation (AAF) has represented the advertising and marketing industry through its 50,000 professional members. Our membership includes the nation’s largest advertisers, agencies and media companies; 210 local advertising clubs and 210 college chapters. Due to the size and diversity of our membership, the AAF seeks to provide comprehensive, daily communication to our members through our Web site.

The AAF maintains a robust site with extensive content, which includes program manuals, complete press kits and video streaming of industry events.

To help build community, the AAF Web site showcases sections for our corporate members, ad clubs and college chapters. In addition we provide industry resources including initiatives that have grown out of our leadership role in multicultural marketing, such as the recent Mosaic Directory. In addition, the Web site features Proflink, an interactive database that brings together our corporate members and the AAF’s academic base for research initiatives.

The AAF site is also an expanding avenue for commerce, primarily through online event registration and the job bank. A recent popular addition is the AAF online corporate store, which allows visitors to purchase AAF-branded merchandise and gifts.

Now in its sixth year, the WebAwards recognize the individual and team achievement of web professionals who create and maintain outstanding corporate Web sites. This year’s field of entrants numbered 1,300 and fellow winners at the “Outstanding Web Site” level include washingtonpost.com, Smithsonian, American Airlines and Deloitte & Touche.

“Our dedication to providing cutting edge information to our members is a top priority at the AAF,” said Wallace S. Snyder, AAF president and CEO. “Out Web site is a powerful resource in accomplishing this goal, and its exceptional design and ease of use are invaluable in educating the public about the positive force of advertising.”
