Albertsons Corporation announced the appointment of Acento Advertising as its Hispanic advertising agency of record. Acento Advertising’s assignments will include all creative, media placement and public relations responsibilities for the Albertsons, Sav-on Drugs and Super Saver Foods brands.

The retailer started the review process last March with 13 selected agencies, then narrowed the field to three finalists. Each was then request to present strategic direction to a marketing assignment. Benito Martinez-Creel, president of Acento, said the shop’s pitch reflected the mind-set of the Hispanic female shopper, and how Albertsons stores could best answer their shopping needs.
