Anheuser-Busch and Rangers Latino Student Budweiser Homerunazo!

Budweiser, the “King of Beers,” is teaming up with the Texas Rangers during the 2002 season for the benefit of Latino students in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area.

Budweiser Homerunazo! is an innovative scholarship campaign in which Anheuser-Busch will donate $100 to the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) for every home run hit by the Rangers during home games this season, and as of July 30th, the home team has had 61 home runs. The HSF is the nation’s largest Hispanic scholarship organization. Ben E. Keith Company will provide key support for the program by matching the company’s cash donations in the region.

“We’re excited about our continued relationship with the Hispanic Scholarship Fund and the Rangers in helping provide scholarships to deserving Latino students,” said Jesus Rangel, vice president of sales development and community relations, Anheuser-Busch, Inc. “Budweiser is proud to sponsor the Homerunazo! program, and we’re looking forward to continued success again this season.”

“The Rangers are a valued local partner of the Budweiser Homerunazo! program,” said Kevin Bartholomew, president, Ben E. Keith Company. “Consumers here in the metroplex will know a donation goes to the HSF every time they watch a Rangers home run at The Ballpark in Arlington.”

The final check presentation will be during the Texas Rangers vs. Anaheim Angels game at the Ballpark in Arlington — September 26, 2002 at 2:05 p.m. Other Major League Baseball teams participating in the 2002 Homerunazo! program include: Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Indians, Detroit Tigers, Florida Marlins, Houston Astros, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees and San Diego Padres.
