Guerra – Executive Producer @ Telemundo’s ‘Al Rojo Vivo con Maria Celeste’.

Telemundo Network announced that Johanna Guerra has been named executive producer of news magazine ‘Al Rojo Vivo con María Celeste’.

Guerra is an accomplished award winning professional, as well as a skilled manager. She comes to Telemundo from the NBC integration team, where for the past few months she has helped Telemundo’s network news department integrate with NBC News. During that process she has gained a broad working knowledge of both organizations. Prior to that, Guerra was as a producer for MSNBC in Secaucus, New Jersey, including on their coverage of the World Trade Center terrorist attack in September 2001.

Before joining NBC, Guerra was executive producer at WNJU, Telemundo’s local New York station. Under her leadership, WNJU’s 11pm newscast received an Emmy award as the “most outstanding newscast.” She also played a key role in news expansion at WNJU. She managed the creation of WNJU’s weekday local early morning newscast as well as its midday newscasts. This expansion was carried out in an editorially sound and cost effective manner and further strengthened the station’s ties to its local community. The expansion also positioned WNJU to successfully cover the World Trade Center terrorist attack last year.

Prior to her work as executive producer, Guerra served as producer and line producer at WNJU. She played an important role in WNJU’s coverage of the first terrorist attack on New York’s World Trade Center in 1993. She began her career working at Univision’s New York station while in her senior year of college.
