Rubio – VP Interactive Marketing @ AOL LatAM.

America Online Latin America announced the appointment of Gustavo Rubio as Vice President of Interactive Marketing.

Mr. Rubio, a leader and pioneer in Latin America’s online advertising sales industry, brings an extensive background of managing successful interactive and traditional media advertising sales organizations focused on Latin America. Prior to joining AOL Latin America, Mr. Rubio was Vice President of Advertising Sales for StarMedia Networks for more than two years, where he managed a large sales workforce of executives across Latin America and expanded strategic relationships including numerous Fortune 500 global advertisers. Prior to his position with StarMedia, Mr. Rubio managed and launched new products in the advertising sales department for United Airlines at the regional and global level.

Mr. Rubio has replaced Peter Blacker, who has been appointed Vice President of International and U.S. Hispanic AOL Interactive Marketing. Peter Blacker now leads a team that will work to engage US advertisers with AOL’s 4.2 million Hispanic members.

Mr. Herington also added: “I would like to congratulate Peter as he moves to the position of Vice President of International and U.S. Hispanic AOL Interactive Marketing. In his new role, Peter will strengthen the company’s relationships with top global advertisers and will seek to create cross-border and cross-continent advertising sales opportunities for America Online, Inc. and AOL Latin America.”
