Cristina Saralegui – Mistress of Ceremonies @ The Hispanic Media 10 Event.

Cristina Saralegui, veteran journalist and an icon among the Spanish-language entertainment and journalism industries, will serve as Mistress of Ceremonies at the annual Hispanic Media 100 Awards on September 20th at the JW Marriott in downtown Miami.

Ms. Saralegui is perhaps best known for her long-running television show, “The Cristina Show,” which premiered in 1989, and continues its reign as the number one talk show on Spanish-language television. She also publishes Cristina La Revista, a magazine that strives to improve the lives of Hispanic Americans by helping them to become more productive members of their communities. Other projects managed by Ms. Saralegui include her daily radio program on Radio Unica; the Arriba la Vida/Up with Life Foundation dedicated to AIDs Awareness among the Hispanic community at large; and Cristinaonline, her bilingual website that, since 1998, has received over 90 million hits within the United States, Latin America, and as far as South Korea.

“We are thrilled to have Ms. Saralegui participate as this year’s MC,” said Chris Day, CEO of Event Concepts, owner of the Hispanic Media programs. “She is a model representative of what the awards program epitomizes – the highest ideologies and excellence of Spanish-language journalism and media in the United States.”

Throughout her career, Ms. Saralegui has received numerous awards for journalistic excellence and community service, and has been nominated for the second time to the Hispanic Media 100, which recognizes Spanish-language journalists and media personalities within the United States who are considered to be the most influential.
