Jack Daniel’s Latino Comedy Series.

iCaramba Communications and Jack Daniel’s, have partnered to assemble the biggest Latino comedy series to ever take place in New York City. This summer, along with media partners 97.9FM – La Mega and 93.1FM – Amor, iCaramba will be presenting thirteen weeks of Latino comedy at the top comedy venues in New York including Gotham Comedy Club, The World Famous Comic Strip Live, Gramercy Comedy Club and StandUP New York. The series, which kicks off on Wednesday, June 26th at Gotham Comedy Club, will run through the end of September and will showcase over 20 different Latino comedians over the course of the summer. For its finale show, a special VIP event will be held at Club One51 in New York featuring special guest, iCaramba partner and spokesperson, John Leguizamo, and other Latino celebrities. “We’re really excited and proud to be presenting this comedy series on behalf of New York Latino comedy fans and comedians alike,” says iCaramba CEO, David Chitel. “This program is directly in line with iCaramba’s vision of helping to develop the young progressive Latino media and entertainment space and the many talented people in it.”

In addition to the extensive radio support that the comedy series will receive from both La Mega and Amor, it will also be promoted via guerrilla street marketing, off-premise POS at local liquor retailers, on-premise support at the comedy venues, via the iCaramba.com and LaMusica.com websites and through special online and offline ticket giveaways. In an effort to make the comedy series as accessible as possible to the public, iCaramba and its media partners will be giving away many of the tickets for free throughout the summer, while allowing advance ticket holders to enter for just $5 per person. By working with iCaramba on this comedy series, Jack Daniel’s has opened up a refreshing new channel through which to promote our product and brand image amongst Latinos of legal drinking age. It is a program that we intend to grow along with over time.”

All of the Latino comedians will be performing in English with loads of culturally-relevant material that often switches back and forth between languages, ultimately giving their performances a very ‘Spanglish’ feel. According to Chitel, “Non-Latino comedy show-goers need not worry, chances are you’ll be sitting next to a Latino who will be fluent in ‘Spanglish’ that can explain the inside jokes. All jokes aside, however, this comedy series is going to have people rolling in the aisles all summer long.” With more than 20 different Latino comedians to choose from, each of the four comedy venues will host a new group of comics each week in order to provide audiences with a fresh experience every time they see a show. In addition to the regular comedic acts, iCaramba.com and LaMusica.com will be providing up and coming Latino amateur comedians with a chance to participate in the comedy series as well. Four lucky winners, who can enter either online or offline, will be selected to perform in front of live audiences over the course of the series. Thereafter, one of the amateur comedians will be selected to perform at the special VIP finale performance in September with John Leguizamo and other Latino celebrities in attendance.
