May 4, 2002
Urban Latino TV, LLC announced two key clearances solidifying their scheduled syndicated launch this fall to “Firm Go” status.
In Los Angeles, the nation’s number 1 Latino market with over 6 million Latinos and 15.4% of all U.S. Latino HHs, Urban Latino TV announced a clearance on ABC owned and operated station, KABC-Channel 7. KABC will be offering Urban Latino on the weekend afternoon time period with a second weekend run likely.
In Miami, the nation’s number 3 Latino market with over 1.5 million Latinos and 5.4% of U.S. Latino Households, Urban Latino TV announced a clearance on CBS owned and operated stations WFOR-CBS and WBFS-UPN. WFOR will be offering the show during weekend access with a 2nd run on WBFS the markets UPN affiliate likely.
In New York (Latino Market Rank #2) 13 original episodes of the weekly series have been airing multiple times weekly (twice during weekend primetime) since April 7th on Rainbow Media’s New York cable channel MetroTV. MetroTV is a co-producer on the project and is distributed in over 4.4 million homes in the New York DMA.
“The Los Angeles and Miami clearances were crucial additions to our clearances in New York and other key markets like San Diego to insure our national launch this fall.” says Robert Rose of Artist and Idea Management, Packager, Executive Producer and Distributor for the series.
“Outside of the quality of the stations, we are most excited that the clearance times are so advertiser and viewer friendly, not buried in late night or early morning hours.” Rose continues “It’s a credit to the stations’ management. Having a good time period allows us to market the show aggressively in all our markets, making good on our promise of providing our affiliates access to a new, untapped audience and revenue stream.”
