With an astronomical 5.0 Nielsen Station Index (NSI) rating and 7 share, the new novela, “El Privilegio de Amar” (The Right to Love), bowed to a record high audience for a Spanish-language 8 pm novela on Univision 41 (WXTV) in NYC. In fact, the 5.0/7 NSI is the second highest rated novela premiere of all time for any time period for a Spanish-language soap opera on New York TV. The highest ever was the November 19, 2001 bow of “La Intrusa” (The Intruder) at 7 pm, which scored 5.8/9 NSI.

“El Privilegio de Amar” is a story of history repeating itself. The twisted tale of passion, high fashion, religion, and abandonment involves three generations of high-powered women, a fashion designer, the supermodel whom she does not know is really her daughter, their lovers, and their emotionally sterile parents.
