Burrell Communications Group Honored With O’Toole Multicultural Award.

Burrell Communications Group based in Chicago announced the agency as the recipient of the O’Toole Multicultural Award. The only award competition of the American Association of Advertising Agencies (AAAA), the O’Toole Awards honor creative work produced during a calendar year.

“We are very proud as an advertising agency to receive this prestigious award,” said Tom Burrell, Chairman and CEO, Burrell Communications Group. “This honor exemplifies Burrell’s commitment to providing our clients with the creative thinking our company is committed to offering throughout the year.”

A single award is presented to an AAAA agency that targets multicultural consumer groups including African-Americans, Asian-Americans, Hispanic- Americans and Native-Americans. Burrell’s winning submission reel included work with clients such as: Sears “Dishing it Out;” McDonald’s “May I;” Verizon “Lesson Plan;” and adidas “Silence.”

The O’Toole Award competition earmarks its proceeds for the AAAA Foundation, Inc., which was established in 1997. The primary goal of the foundation is to award scholarships to multicultural students of the advertising arts and is one of the many AAAA initiatives designed to bolster cultural diversity in advertising agencies nationwide.
