Telemundo ‘Noticiero 47’ In NYC Nominated For Six Emmy’s.

Telemundo 47 WNJU’s Noticiero-47 received Six Emmy Awards Nominations, including three as single newscast (0-35 minutes) in the 45th annual New York Emmy Awards of The New York Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

The pioneer Spanish TV Station of the New York Metropolitan area was nominated in the prestigious category of Outstanding Single Newscast, along with Channel 2 News. This was the sixth nomination for Noticiero 47 in the last seven years.

The telecasts that received the attention of the academy members were: “Decision 2000”, aired on November 7, 2000 at 6pm, as well as the telecasts on February 14, and May 30, 2001, with newscast: Ricardo Alvarez, News Director; Jorge Ramos and Carmen Dominicci, Anchors; Martha Jaimes, Producer.

The other three nominations were in the category of Multi-Part News Feature, for Sobreviviendo, Ricardo Villarini, Reporter, and Hector Liriano, Rossy Peguero, and Isabel Ocampo, Segment Producers, as well as two nominations for Michelle LaFoutain, Sports Anchor, under the category of On-Camera Achievement (Sports) Anchoring/Hosting & Reporting.

The 45th Annual Emmy Award Gala will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2002.
