Lincoln ‘Creando Estrellas’ Latino Filmmakers Program.

Lincoln, the official auto manufacturer sponsor of the VI Miami Latin Film Festival, announced “Creando Estrellas” Creating Stars), a grant program established to demonstrate Lincoln’s support for the Latino arts.

Lincoln will be awarding a grant in the amount of $5,000 to one of the Latino filmmakers whose work will be showcased at the VI Miami Latin Film Festival. The winner of the grant will be selected on the basis of audience votes for “best film.”

Lincoln created the program, “Creando Estrellas,” as a way of bolstering Latino films, as well as offering a cash investment to further demonstrate their commitment to promoting the professional development of Latinos in the film industry and in the community in general.

“Lincoln is extremely pleased to help aspiring Latino filmmakers,” stated Mary Miqueli, VP, and General Manager of The Bravo Group in Miami, representing Lincoln. “Creando Estrellas’ is Lincoln’s way of encouraging Latino filmmakers by helping them achieve a new level of recognition, and hopefully fund his or her subsequent productions,” she said.

“Creando Estrellas” is an exciting program that not only helps enhance the appeal of the Miami Latin Film Festival, but it will help some of our best Latino filmmakers continue with their dreams,” said Jaime Angulo, Executive Director Miami Film Festival. “We’re glad to see great companies such as Lincoln take an interest in our Film Festival, its participants and especially the Hispanic Market.”

Lincoln will also be “creating stars” in three other markets, as sponsors of the San Diego Latino Film Festival, the Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival, and the New York International Latino Film Festival.

The VI Miami Latin Film Festival takes place on March 22nd to March 31 at the Miami Beach Regal Cinemas located at the corner of Lincoln Road and Alton Road.
