Galavision’s ‘Mi Casita’ Wins Film Advisory Board’s ‘Award of Excellence’.
February 5, 2002
“Mi Casita” has just won the prestigious Award of Excellence from the Film Advisory Board. In making the announcement, Film Advisory Board Director Elaine Blythe says of one of the episodes, “Colors, Colors, Colors is a cute story about colors. This program can teach English-speaking children Spanish… The stories have great morals in that they encourage children to be anything they wish to be, and the music is very pleasant.”
The show follows the daily imaginative adventures of Lulu, a 5-year old girl, and Benjamin, her cuddly bear friend. As soon as Lulu returns from school each day, she runs out to her playhouse. Lulu thinks her casita is cool because it allows her to explore and imagine, just like she does in school. She puts on a new “TV show” each day, singing songs, creating snacks, crafts and other educational activities that her TV-land amigos will enjoy.
