TeleFutura will provide comprehensive sports coverage completely in Spanish, seven days a week. Nightly, the network will air a 30-minute sports highlights show, offering the most important news of the day. Additionally, there’s LIVE boxing every Friday night and the best match-ups of the Mexican Soccer League on Saturday afternoons. Hispanics love their sports, and no other broadcast television network will bring them more thrilling moments, incredible action, and unbelievable plays than TeleFutura.
Starting January 14th, Monday through Sunday at 11:00 PM/10:00 Central, as well as at 2:30 AM/1:30 Central, TeleFutura will air “Contacto Deportivo.” This unrivaled sports program will deliver all of the important highlights of the day and the latest scores, in addition to providing enlightening, in-depth analysis and experienced commentary from its team of veteran sportscasters: Ricardo Celis, Jorge Pérez Navarro and Adrián García-Márquez. In touch with its viewers, the show will emphasize, in particular, those sports of special interest to Hispanics, such as boxing and soccer, as well as covering the major American leagues like the NFL, the NBA, and MLB. Never a step behind the action, “Contacto Deportivo” will be on the front line of reporting on the most recent developments relating to one of the year’s major sports events: the 2002 FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan.
TeleFutura viewers every Friday night starting at 9:00 PM/8 Central, when it will air its LIVE boxing program entitled “Sólo Boxeo” (“Boxing Only”). This thrilling two-hour weekly show will present both championship and 10-round non-title matches and features many of the giants of the sport as well as up-and-coming superstars. Punch for punch, nobody covers boxing like TeleFutura’s Ricardo Celis and Bernardo Osuna, who will provide all of the ringside play-by-play action and clever commentary. Nothing stirs a Hispanic sports fan more than watching an exciting soccer match, and TeleFutura brings the best games of the Mexican Soccer League to viewers LIVE every Saturday afternoon starting at 4:00 PM/3 Central. “Fútbol Liga Mexicana” will feature match-ups between the league’s top teams such as “Las Chivas”, “Club America” and “Los Tigres,” and will profile the major players of the sport. The sports commentators in charge of guiding viewers through all of the action are veteran anchors, Pablo Ramírez and Ricardo Mayorga. Thanks to TeleFutura, soccer fans need not leave their home to be as close to the action as sitting in the stands.
