People en Español Expands Saleforce.

People en Español Eastern Advertising Sales Director, Rosa Alonso, announces new appointments at the magazine. “Our new Ad Sales representatives have demonstrated outstanding sales records, in both Hispanic and general market media. Both will be instrumental in helping People en Español to further expand our client base,” comments Alonso.

Barbara Alvarez has been appointed to the position of Advertising Sales Manager, based in New York, reporting to Alonso. Responsible for such clients as Colgate-Palmolive, Sears, and American Home Products, Ms. Alvarez brings to PEOPLE en Español 14 years of sales and marketing experience. Most recently, she served as Senior Sales Manger for the publication, LatinGirl, where she demonstrated the growing importance of reaching the Hispanic market. Before that, she served as Senior Account Manager for the publication Sesame Street Parents & Padres where her client list included Nabisco and Hershey’s. Prior to that, she held the position of Senior Advertising Account Executive with Editorial Televisa where she brought in such new clients as Merck Pfizer. Within a year and half, Alvarez there developed sales and acquisitions proposals resulting in new business and a 60% increase in Ad revenue. Previous to that, she held a public relations post with Telemundo 47. Ms. Alvarez holds a B.S. from St. Peter’s College and currently resides in New Jersey.

Also new to People en Español is Adverting Sales Manager, Marta Quiñones-McCarthy. With more than 10 years marketing experience, Ms. Quinones will help guide and be responsible for clients such as Pepsi, Estée Lauder and Bristol-Myers Squibb. Most recently she served as Account Manager for Latina where she established new accounts with Coca-Cola, Revlon, IBM, Neutrogena, Ralph Lauren Fragrances and many more, ultimately increasing sales volume by 51%. Before that, she worked with such institutions as Columbia House/Club Música Latina, Ralph Lauren WomensWear, Bai Group and Simon & Schuster. Ms. Quiñones possesses a B.A. from Middlebury College and currently resides in Manhattan.
