Live Web-Events Expected To Increase 25%.

According to a recent survey completed by IDC, 80% of the administrators of conferencing systems surveyed expect to see a 25% increase or more in “live” Web-events in the next six months. The survey respondents are users of several of the largest conferencing and elearning products and represent software, healthcare, telecom, and business consulting industries, as well as others.

According to IDC, the value and benefit of providing live Web-events has been increasing for a while now, and companies, regardless of size or industry, are ready to seize this growth opportunity. However, in order to successfully increase their market share of live Web-events, companies will need to make some adjustments.

“Vendors will have to refine their strategies, demonstrate immediate value, and recognize the unique requirements of their targeted segments,” said Cushing Andersen, program manager of IDC’s Learning Services research. “For example, companies will need to spend their time on focusing on serving education-related events and developing ‘pay-as-you-go’ services.”
