Angel Rivera – Chairman Of 4A’s Diversity Committee.

Angel Rivera has been appointed the new Chairman of the American Association of Advertising Agencies’ Equal Employment Opportunity Committee for a two-year term. The Committee’s name has been changed to the Diversity Committee to reflect the broader role the Committee will take to tackle the industry’s diversity challenges.

In his current position as Manager, Global Diversity for Foote, Cone & Belding, Mr. Rivera is responsible for FCB’s recruitment, retention and supplier diversity programs, and is presently working to incorporate diversity initiatives into FCB’s strategic business plan.

The Committee, which includes representatives from agencies such as McCann Erickson, Bozell and Leo Burnett, plans to expand the highly successful Multicultural Advertising Internship Program and educate its member agencies on their EEO, Affirmative Action and corporate citizenship responsibilities.

“Beyond assisting agencies with compliance issues,” Rivera said, “I look forward to helping them implement programs that encourage cultural diversity, build a diverse workforce and promote a business culture that is inclusive, fosters mutual respect and maximizes every individual’s full potential.”
