Yahoo! en Español and ESPNdeportes.com announced that they have reached a content distribution agreement to deliver espndeportes.com content on Yahoo! Deportes (http://deportes.yahoo.com). As part of the agreement, Yahoo! en Español users will have access to ESPNdeportes.com feature profiles, columns and ESPN TV Listings.
“Providing content to the Yahoo! en Español audience is an extremely valuable way for ESPNdeportes.com to reach even more sports fans around the world,” said Willy Burkhardt, executive vice president, ESPN Enterprises and ESPN International.
“We are pleased to team up with ESPN deportes.com to continue to grow the breadth and depth of our content offerings for our visitors,” stated Jorge Consuegra, general manager, Yahoo! en Español. “Yahoo! Deportes provides fans with an abundance of comprehensive information on all of their favorite sports.”
The agreement provides Yahoo! Deportes with a branded ESPN.com experts’ column featuring up-to-the-minute news, information and commentary from the ESPN’s pool of expert analysts. Writing under the banner of OPINIONESPN, these analysts include light heavyweight champion Jose “Chegui” Torres (boxing), former Real Madrid star Quique Wolf (football), ESPN television journalist Alvaro Martin among others.
In addition to OPINIONESPN, users have access to ESPN Perfiles, the online companion section to ESPN International’s monthly in-depth program profiling Latin American athletes, alongside ESPN World Cup Top 25, a weekly updated list of the top 25 ranked football clubs featuring interviews and video highlights. Yahoo! Deportes also now has access to updated ESPN television listings in Spanish, searchable by day, sport or network, for ESPN’s U.S. and Latin American networks.
