KMEX-TV has promoted Local Sales Manager Mark Dante to the post of General Sales Manager for the station.
Dante will oversee all aspects of the KMEX-TV sales effort, as well as Univision’s new Los Angeles station affiliate of the Telefutura Network, Channel 46. This includes responsibility for the Sales Department’s planning, organizational and marketing strategies. In addition, Dante will supervise the Research and Traffic Departments.
“Mark has done an outstanding job at KMEX-TV since his joining our sales team in 1998,” commented Martinez. “Our station’s sales growth in recent years is testimony to Mark’s contribution to our efforts through usage of his experience, knowledge and energy. We strongly believe in his commitment and ability to effectively lead our sales team. As one of L.A.’s highest-rated stations, regardless of language, KMEX-TV has made great strides in acceptance by the advertising community and we feel that Mark is an integral part in taking the stations to the next level.”
Dante commented, “I am very excited about this opportunity and look forward to the challenge. The station is unquestionably a major television force in Los Angeles that cannot be ignored by the advertising community.”
Having joined KMEX-TV in October 1998 as KMEX-TV’s National Sales on the East Coast, Dante most recently served as KMEX-TV Local Sales manager the last 2 years, helping diversify the station’s clientele base.
Prior to KMEX-TV, Dante served for more than 6 years as CBS Television’s National Account Executive, where he represented the network’s owned-and-operated stations sales efforts for Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago and other key markets, based in New York. He also served as a local account executive at the ABC affiliate WTHN-TV in New Haven, Conn., from 1990 to 1992.
