Weepa!, Telemundo 47’s newest variety show, has become an instant success since its debut only one month ago. This weekly one-hour entertainment, music, and variety program, which is broadcast by WNJU-TV/Telemundo 47 each Saturday at 11:00AM and hosted by well-known radio and television personality Luis Jimenez, is already averaging a 5.6 rating, as measured by the Nielsen Hispanic rating service NHSI. This represents a 61% share of viewing to Spanish-language programming at that hour. Significantly, the program has resulted in a 60% improvement in the station’s time period performance, compared with the July, 2001 sweeps, and an even more impressive 150% ratings increase over the same period one year ago.

“The New York Hispanic market has always enjoyed participating in local television programs, and I am pleased that Telemundo 47 has given me the chance to present a new and exciting program,” said Luis Jimenez, the program’s producer and host. He added, “It’s great to be back on the air and the public’s reaction is always so encouraging.”
