KMEX-TV Posts Dominant Audience Share In May 2001 NHSI Book.

KMEX-TV continues to capture a large share of the viewing among the large and growing Hispanic population in Los Angeles, based on NHSI data from the May 2001 ratings period. Highlights from the May 2001 NHSI book include:

· KMEX-TV captured 79% of the audience to primetime novelas (Monday to Friday: 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.). The average ratings for KMEX-TV’s novela block grew 14% from May 2000.

· KMEX-TV’s highest rated novela, “Abrázame Muy Fuerte,” averaged a 32.3 rating at 8:00 p.m.

· KMEX-TV’s primetime variety block (Monday to Friday: 10:00 to 11:00 p.m.) averaged a 20.2 rating. On Wednesday night, “Hasta en las Mejores Familias” posted a 22.9 rating, a gain of +33% from the time period’s average 17.2 rating in May 2000.

· KMEX-TV also dominated with its early morning local news block. “Primera Edición” (Monday to Friday: 6:00 to 7:00 a.m.) averaged a 6.4 rating. Univision’s national morning show, “Despierta América” (Monday to Friday: 7:00 to 10:00 a.m.), averaged a 6.2 rating on KMEX-TV.

· “Mujer Casos de la Vida Real” (Monday to Friday: 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.) posted an 8.3 rating, more than double the average 4.0 rating for the time period in May 2000.

· KMEX-TV’s daytime line-up (Monday to Friday: 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) averaged a 8.7 rating.

· At 3:00 p.m., “Cristina” posted a 10.7 rating, a gain of +13% from its May 2000 time period average.

· In early fringe, KMEX-TV was again the leader with “Primer Amor” (Monday to Friday: 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.) delivering a 13.3 rating.

· The 6:00 p.m. edition of “Noticias 34” averaged a 14.7 rating. KMEX-TV’s 11:00 p.m. newscast scored a 15.3 rating.
