Telemundo celebrates Fiestas Patrias

Telemundo Station Group is celebrating Fiestas Patrias by participating in a series of events to be held surrounding the independence of Mexico and various Latin American countries, including Belize, Brazil, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, Guatemala and Chile that takes place in September. Telemundo stations in Los Angeles, New York, the Bay Area, Houston, Phoenix, Chicago and Denver are joining local community organizations to commemorate and pay tribute to the Latin American culture. Events will feature live music, parades, traditional food, special appearances by Telemundo personalities and lots of fun for the whole family.

BAY AREA- SAN FRANCISCO- SEPTEMBER 7- 3-6PM
Location: AT&T Park (24 Willie Mays Plaza San Francisco)
The Giants welcome the members and supporters of the Bay Area’s Hispanic community for an annual Fiesta Gigantes cultural celebration. Fiesta Gigante will feature special performances by “La Voz Kids” participant Gabriela Sepulveda, The Montuno Dance Company, Cafe Canela and Rocio y su Sonora. Viewers and fans are also invited to the annual free “Fiesta Gigantes” pre-game event on Terry Francois Boulevard from 3:00-6:00pm. While the event is free and open to the public, attendees can buy a “Special Event” ticket in order to receive the Gregor Blanco bobblehead.
DENVER – SEPTEMBER 13-15
Location: Church of the Ascension (14050 Maxwell Pl. Denver)
The free event will feature a vehicle parade, live music, food and fun for the whole family. The event will also include special appearances by Telemundo Denver’s news personalities.
CHICAGO- CICERO – SEPTEMBER 13-15
Location: Parking lot at 34th & Laramie St., Cicero
Located in the heart of Cicero, the free event will feature live music, Mexican traditional cuisine, rides, and family activities, including the participation of international artists and the best of local groups.
LOS ANGELES- SEPTEMBER 14- 15- 11AM-6PM
Location: Placita Olvera at Downtown Los Angeles (845 N. Alameda Street)
Telemundo 52 KVEA celebrates its traditional Fiestas Patrias event with a two-day celebration featuring entertainment for the whole family. The event will include special appearances by Telemundo’s “Un Nuevo Dia” co-host Ana Maria Canseco and telenovela stars Sonya Smith and Ricardo Chavez from “Marido en Alquiler,” as well as Telemundo 52’s personalities Azalea Iñiguez, Martin Plascencia, Dinorah Perez, Edgar Muñoz, Elva Saray, Dunia Elvir and Azucena Gomez.
PHOENIX- SEPTEMBER 14-15- 12PM
Location: Desert Sky Mall (7611 W Thomas Rd, Phoenix)
Phoenix’ Fiestas Patrias 2013 will feature entertainment for the whole family including product sampling, food kiosks, rides and live music by Gerardo Ortiz, Roberto Tapia, Los Buitres, Tito Torbellino, Luis Coronel, Duelo, Remmy Valenzuela, Banda Alterada, Doble Impacto, El Patron Martin Lopez, Los Parras De Sinaloa, La Sonora Karisma, Honorables, Los Ahijados, Miguel El Renegado, Grupo Caribe and Banda La Maciza. Admission: $5.00 before 5PM, $10.00 after 5PM. Free admission for children 12 and under.
HOUSTON- SEPTEMBER 14- 10AM

Houston’s 45th annual Fiestas Patrias parade celebrates the independence of eight Latin American countries. Telemundo Houston news talent will join in the festivities atop the Telemundo Houston float to celebrate the station’s 25th year anniversary of serving the local Hispanic community.
HOUSTON- SEPTEMBER 15- 10AM-5PM

Telemundo Houston’s Fiestas Patrias celebration features a special day of fun, music, performances, and prizes for the whole family. The event will include special appearances by Mariachi Loco, Sunny Ozuma and the Telemundo Houston news team.
BAY AREA- SAN FRANCISCO- SEPTEMBER 15 5-8PM
Location: City Hall SF (1 Dr. Carlton B Goodlett PL, San Francisco)
This annual premier event is free to the public and brings Hispanics from all over central California together to celebrate Hispanic culture, heritage, and customs. It’s a party full of Latin flavor in which over 5,000 gather to experience music, food, games, dancing, and much, much more. The event will feature special performances by “La Voz Kids” participant Gabriela Sepulveda and Mariachi Los Cachorros.
NEW YORK- SEPTEMBER 15 12-4PM
Location: Madison Avenue (between 27th St and 38th St, New York)
The traditional Mexican Day Parade in New York features the best of the Mexican culture including colorful floats, folkloric dancers, Mariachis and many more. Special appearances will include Telemundo personalities Penelope Menchaca host of the popular game show “12 Corazones,” and Telemundo local personalities, Veronica Contreras and Elliot Saenz.
BAY AREA- REDWOOD CITY- SEPTEMBER 16- 4-8PM
Location: Downtown Redwood City (Courthouse Square: 2200 Broadway St, Redwood City)
This free celebration of many Latin countries and 203 years of Mexican Independence will be held in the heart of Redwood City and feature a special performance by Rocio y su Sonora.
NEW JERSEY- SEPTEMBER 22, 11-6PM
Location: Monroe Street and Pulaski Park, Passaic, New Jersey
The traditional Mexican Day Parade and Festival in Passaic features the best of the Mexican culture including colorful floats, folkloric dancers, Mariachis and many more. Special appearances will include local Telemundo Nueva York personalities Veronica Contreras and Elliot Saenz.
