Gotay named Director of Multicultural Marketing at NASCAR

NASCAR announced that Edwin Gotay will join NASCAR as  Director of Multicultural Marketing, adding to the company’s roster of talented professionals focused on increasing NASCAR’s appeal with younger, more diverse audiences.  

Gotay comes from the Coca-Cola Company, where he served as Director of Multicultural Commercialization. In this role, Edwin was responsible for the development of multicultural commercial strategies, targeted multicultural initiatives, and building cultural competency across the entire organization.   Edwin led the commercialization of the Coca-Cola North America 2014 FIFA World Cup, Big Game and Pay It Forward initiatives, aimed at reaching the total market and multicultural consumers.

Edwin joined The Coca-Cola Company in 2007 as the Central Florida sales manager for vitaminwater.  He helped manage the transition following the merger with Coca-Cola and has also served as a category manager and East Region Multicultural manager.  Edwin graduated from the University of Central Florida with a B.S. in interdisciplinary studies with a minor in psychology.

Gotay will report directly to Pete Jung, Senior Director of Growth Segments Marketing. He will be part of the Growth Segments team reporting to Kenny Mitchell, Managing Director of Brand and Consumer Marketing, and will contribute to the continued development of NASCAR’s marketing function under Vice President of Marketing Kim Brink. Gotay, who begins work on October 13, will be based in NASCAR’s headquarters in Daytona Beach, Fla.
