Garin named Executive Creative Director at Grupo Gallegos

Grupo Gallegos announced the hiring of Sebastian Garin as Executive Creative Director. Garin is a veteran creative director known for bringing creative distinction and recognition to Latin American offices of international agencies like Leo Burnett, Grey and Publicis.

As Executive Creative Director, Garin will report to Chief Creative Officer Marty Orzio and will lead creative responsibilities for several key accounts at the agency.

“Sebastian has worked at the most recognized agencies in Argentina — Grey, Ponce and Del Campo — as well as Chile and, most recently, Leo Burnett Mexico, and at every agency, he has raised that creative bar, winning some 20 Lions,” said Marty Orzio, Chief Creative Officer. “For me, two things stand out: his insistence on simplicity and a real human quality to his work. He’s a great guy, a positive spirit, a nurturer of talent, which will benefit the agency as we approach the next stage of our evolution.”

Garin brings extensive experience working with international brands to create continuity in the marketplace while achieving regional relevance among the target audience. Most recently, he worked as Executive Creative Director at Leo Burnett in Mexico City, where he led creative for notable brands such as Corona, Kellogg’s, Whirlpool and Always. Garin’s work on Corona included the lauded “Drink Blow Drive” campaign, which called attention to irresponsible drinking in Mexico.

Prior to Leo Burnett, Garin worked as a Regional Creative Director at Ponce Buenos Aires, a Lowe Campbell Ewald agency. While at Ponce, he worked on Axe and Stella Artois as well as several local brands. Before joining Ponce, Garin was an Executive Creative Director at Grey Buenos Aires, where he was a key driver in the agency’s #1 ranking by Grey’s Global Creative Council. He also helped make Grey a contender at the Cannes Lions Festival, where the agency was recognized with 11 Lions in five years.

“I’ve long admired Grupo Gallegos, an agency famous for its great work and passion for creativity,” shared Garin. “I look forward to building on their success and working to mold and grow the exciting talent the agency has attracted.”
