TELEMUNDO unveils campaign for “Los Secretos de El Señor de los Cielos”

TELEMUNDO launched a marketing campaign leading to the premiere of season three on April 21st. The campaign includes an interactive nationwide CineTransformer tour, a digital special featuring 15 episodes titled “Los Secretos de El Señor de los Cielos”, an on-air recap special, a collectible comic book, a dedicated Facebook application and a 19-hour surveillance feed footage available hours prior to the premiere for fans to monitor Aurelio Casillas behind bars.
The dedicated Facebook application customizes the experience for the user taking them directly to the prison cell where we last saw the protagonist of the super series, Aurelio Casillas (Rafael Amaya). Additionally, for the first time ever TELEMUNDO has worked with a local Latino artist to create a custom comic book, available via Telemundo.com, based on the second season where fans will be able to re-live the action of the previous season as they gear up for the upcoming third season. Also on Telemundo.com, fans will be able to access a 19-hour feed on April 21st, which will show footage directly from the prison where Casillas is being held, leading up to the premiere that evening at 10pm/9c.
An interactive CineTransformer tour titled El Señor de los Cielos Tercera Temporada: La Experiencia will give fans a sneak-peek of the third season in top Hispanic markets, kicking off this past weekend in Los Angeles (April 11th and 12th) and continuing through Dallas, TX (April 17th) and Houston, TX (April 19th). The tour also includes stops in Chicago (April 24th), Miami (week of April 27th) and New York (May 3rd).
TELEMUNDO will also entice fans with an exclusive digital special featuring the original super series cast titled “Los Secretos de El Señor de los Cielos” available across all TELEMUNDO digital and social platforms including online, mobile and the novelas application. The 15 mini-episodes detail all that has happened during the past two seasons and reveal what audiences can expect in the new season. The episodes are currently available until April 21st. Additionally a recap special of season two titled “El Señor de los Cielos… Siguiendo su Historia” will air right before the premiere on Tuesday, April 21stat 9pm/8c.

The show marks the first time in the network’s history that TELEMUNDO produces a third season of an original series. The mega production frequently ranked number one in its time slot and won the first International Emmy in the category of Best Non-English Language US Primetime Program in 2014. “El Señor de los Cielos” illustrates the innovative concept of TELEMUNDO’S super series – scripted stories driven by innovative storytelling and high production values, placing TELEMUNDO at the forefront of Spanish language television in the United States.
The third season of “El Señor de los Cielos” is a Telemundo Studios original production filmed in Mexico by Argos Televisión. Danny Gavidia and Carlos Villegas are directing the script by Luis Zelkowicz, with Joshua Mintz, Mariana Iskandarani and Marcela Mejía as executive producers.
