Darfield receives a Lifetime Achievement Award in Hispanic Research

Douglas Darfield, Managing Director of Programming and Research of Hemisphere Media Group, was honored with the 11th Annual Hispanic Marketing Research Achievement Award at the 19th Annual Hispanic Marketing Conference and Awards ceremony, which took place Tuesday, May 19, in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The Hispanic Marketing Conference and Achievement Awards honor individuals and institutions that have shown outstanding leadership in the Hispanic marketing industry. The Hispanic Marketing Research Achievement Award is presented annually to a candidate who has demonstrated outstanding leadership in developing disciplines in Hispanic marketing research. Candidates are also evaluated on their prior business achievements, influence upon the growth of a given company, and their involvement in the community. Past award recipients include Geoscape Founder and President, Cesar Melgoza, and President of New American Dimensions, David Morse.

Mr. Darfield began his career in Hispanic Marketing as the VP of Research at Univision, before serving as SVP of Hispanic Services at the Nielsen Company, where he led a pioneering effort to fold Hispanic Audience Measurement into the broader U.S. television measurement structure. Mr. Darfield has also served as the Executive Vice President of Research at Telemundo.
