Univision Deportes announces coverage plans for 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament

The Univision Deportes lineup during this year’s tournament, to be held from July 7 to 26, will include complete games, the latest fútbol news and analysis, features and commentary on all teams. Fanáticos will be able to enjoy 24/7 coverage of the United States and Mexico national teams. It all starts on Monday, July 6 from outside Soldier Field in Chicago on Univision Deportes, the Gold Cup’s official Spanish-language broadcaster.
 
The CONCACAF’s Gold Cup, which takes place every two years, is an audience hit and features the best North American, Central American and Caribbean soccer teams. It draws capacity crowds and attracts millions of viewers. This year’s tournament features Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Trinidad & Tobago and the United States.
 
Univision Deportes will showcase a deep bench of experts who will take part in the on-site coverage, including Adriana Monsalve, Lindsay Casinelli, Pablo Ramírez, Jesús Bracamontes, Enrique Bermúdez, Luis Omar Tapia, Diego Balado, Edgar Martínez, Hristo Stoitchkov, Félix Fernández, Alejandro Berry, Jorge Calvo, Iván Kasanzew, José Luis López Salido, Jorge Pérez Navarro and Raúl Guzmán. All will follow the action of the 12 participating teams from cities throughout the United States: Chicago, Phoenix, Charlotte, Dallas, Boston, Kansas City, Baltimore, New York, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Los Angeles. In addition, CONCACAF stars, such as former U.S. National Team captain Marcelo Balboa, will offer commentary.
 
Popular Univision Network programs will also give viewers a variety of special segments and stories, including “Despierta América” (Wake Up America), with reporters Maity Interiano and Orlando Segura; “El Gordo y la Flaca” (The Scoop and The Skinny) with Danilo Carrera and Nathalia Casco; and “Sal y Pimienta” (Salt and Pepper) with Carlos Calderón, Jomari Goyso and Lourdes Stephen.
 
UDN’s sport shows “Locura Deportiva,” “Fútbol Club,” “Contacto Deportivo” and “República Deportiva” will offer a special Gold Cup edition airing live from downtown Chicago, New York and Philadelphia, as well as participating stadiums. In addition, “Locura Deportiva” and “Fútbol Club” will produce their daily shows from host cities. To ensure the most comprehensive live coverage of the tournament, UDN will start their broadcast with “Pasión” at 4 p.m. ET/3 p.m. CT/1 p.m. PT.  
 
To wrap up the soccer action every day, “Fútbol Club” will offer highlights after each double header. In addition, “Contacto Deportivo” will offer audiences the best Gold Cup recaps, live broadcasts from stadiums, interviews with stars, analysis from the field and color features on the tournament’s Hispanic touches.
