Univision premieres “Sueño de Amor”

The Univision Network announced the premiere of “Sueño de Amor” (Dream of Love) on Tuesday, March 8 at 8 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. CT.) A romantic contemporary telenovela created by renowned Televisa producer Juan Osorio, known for his smash TV hits that appeal to the whole family.

“Sueño de Amor” tells the story of Esperanza Guerrero (Betty Monroe), a single, hard working mom and teacher who has lost faith in her own romantic story until she is reunited with her first true love 20 years later, Interpol agent Ricardo Alegría (Cristián de La Fuente).

Esperanza works in two schools in order to provide for her two children. On top of that, she has to deal with her manipulative daughter’s father Ernesto (Julián Gil), who after abandoning Esperanza, uses his daughter to try to reconnect them. Meanwhile, Ricardo, an Interpol agent living in the United States, is married to Tracy Kidman (Sabine Moussier), an independent woman who doesn’t love him but takes care of their two children.

Ricardo is chasing an elusive jewelry thief called ‘La Sombra’ (‘The Shadow’), and to catch him, he returns to Mexico and impersonates the teacher of the criminal’s son at Esperanza’s school. Ironically, despite being a highly-skilled agent capable of handling all kinds of ruthless criminals, when it comes to controlling a group of mischievous kids, he finds he’s finally met his match in these young troublemakers.

But will justice prevail as Esperanza and Ricardo fight to recapture the happiness they once had? Can they blend all of their children into one modern family in which they all love each other as true siblings? Finally, after all these years, can they make their dream of love come true?

The theme song of the telenovela is the memorable hit “Mi Verdad” by Mexican rock band Maná and Colombian superstar Shakira.
