Club América partners with PRIMETIME Sports

Club América, Liga MX’s most-followed and most-victorious Mexican soccer club of all time, officially revealed part of its expansion plans into the United States for 2016 and beyond.

PRIMETIME Sports has been selected by Club América to represent the Club’s commercial rights in the United States, including producing the annual ‘Tour Aguila’ platform. “We are very excited to have partnered with a company such as PRIMETIME Sports that has a proven track record delivering results for more than 10 years in the Latino soccer market in the United States,” expressed Patty Marchak, International Director at Club América.

“As part of our overall growth strategy and to leverage its 100th Anniversary, Club América is proud to announce a multi-tiered plan focusing on expanding its brand presence in the United States,” explained José Romano, the Club’s President. “We are very excited about the growth potential in the United States. Club América already has a major fan presence throughout the country, its games are aired weekly on Univision Network, and the Club has an unparalleled reach via its multiple online and social media extensions, making the América brand a valuable proposition for any company targeting the U.S. Hispanic market via the power of the world’s greatest sport” concluded Romano.

PRIMETIME Sports will produce the official annual tour featuring multiple matches under the ‘Tour Aguila’ brand.  The tour will feature Club América in friendlies against various top clubs from Liga MX, MLS, and European Leagues during its pre-seasons and selected FIFA dates.  These matches will take place in major U.S. cities with large Hispanic populations and will be broadcast on Televisa in Mexico and on a soon-to-be announced top Hispanic network in the United States.

Every ‘Tour Aguila’ event will be a celebration of the team and will have unprecedented Club América presence, bringing the team’s championship trophies, the official mascot, legendary players and a pre-game fan celebration to the stadiums. Tailored brand partner opportunities with Club América, including ‘Tour Aguila,’ will provide clients and partners a powerful national marketing platform.

The first ‘Tour Aguila’ match has been confirmed for Chicago on July 3 at Bridgeview Stadium (formerly Toyota Park). Chicago has a major fan following and a large Latino population. Club América will face Club León, a strong contender to take this year’s Liga MX Clausura title.
