Univision launches “Sábado Futbolero”

Univision Deportes announced the beginning of its Sábado Futbolero  every Saturday night during the Liga MX season.

The six-hour window, will feature the best of Liga MX soccer brought to life for Univision’s networks, with matches being televised and simulcast across the network. For the first time, UVN will feature a double-header of Liga MX matches on Saturday nights on a weekly basis, for destination viewing for fans. Fútbol fans can also enjoy added bonus content across the network’s digital and social channels.

“As the home of soccer for Hispanic America, Univision Deportes is always looking for ways to bring fans more of the sport they love,” said Juan Carlos Rodriguez, president of Univision Deportes. “By partnering with Liga MX to introduce Sábado Futbolero, we are able to deliver even more of the sports content that fans crave and transform Saturday nights into the premier fútbol destination.”

Beginning July 16th, Liga MX returns to UCI with more teams than before, featuring matches from 13 teams. New teams joining the line-up are Necaxa, Leon and Santos. Match highlights include the return of Necaxa to first division of Mexican soccer and newly acquired rights to home games of León.  Univision Network and Univisión Deportes will simulcast the following powerhouses on Saturday nights: América, Monterrey, Guadalajara, León, Tigres UANL, and Cruz Azul. UniMás will also televise matches on Saturday nights.
