Univision unveils Digital and Social Programming for “Nuestra Belleza Latina”

Univision Digital unveiled its digital and social programming for the 11th edition of “Nuestra Belleza Latina” (Our Latin Beauty or NBL) designed to bring the audience closer to the reality competition than ever before. From original digital series with beloved Univision personalities to exclusive content and segments on Facebook and Instagram, the multiplatform experience is sure to give exclusive access to the talent, celebrities and NBL contestants with NuestraBellezaLatina.com serving as the ultimate destination. The 11th season of NBL premieres on Sunday, September 23 at 8 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. CT) on Univision.

This year NBL is giving its format a makeover and promising an empowering season “without sizes, without limits and with no excuses” (sin tallas, sin límites, sin excusas). The NBL four-panel of judges includes long time Univision star Giselle Blondet joined by plus-size model and activist Denise Bidot, Univision personality Jomari Goyso, and Mexican regional music sensation El Dasa.

“Our digital programming for the new season of ‘Nuestra Belleza Latina’ aims to further enhance the strong connection our audience has with this show,” said Hilda Garcia, vice president, Entertainment Digital, Univision Communications. “We also want to reach new audiences through innovative storytelling formats on social platforms, delivering exclusive content, exciting moments and behind-the-scenes of NBL contestants.”

To capture all the behind-the-scenes action, Aleyda Ortiz, NBL 2014, will serve as the Univision’s social media correspondent and host of the NBL Segundo Chance Second Screen Competition. Ortiz alongside Univision personality Daniela Di Giacomo are the ‘Digital Squad’ of NBL, the digital team giving fans all the scoop of what they didn’t see during the show.

ORIGINAL DIGITAL SERIES

 As part of NBL, Univision will be launching five original digital series pre-, post and during the new season of NBL with former NBL winners and Univision talent that will create excitement and engage audience.

  •     ‘Recordando Un Sueño’ – Alejandra Espinoza, TV host and first NBL winner in 2007, relives the best moments from the first season of NBL, featuring never before seen moments. For the first time, Espinoza takes a look back at the show that changed her life, and fans will get to share her most emotional and exciting moments, includes special guests Giselle Blondet and others. Series premiered on August 22 and will feature one episode per day with the series finale on August 28.
  •     “Behind the NBL Auditions of NBL” (Buscando a la Nueva NBL Auditions) – The series consists of five episodes with host Nastassja Bolívar highlighting all the exciting moments during the auditions, from emotional stories of the contestants to interviews with the judges and hosts of the show. Additionally, exclusive content from each city: Puerto Rico, Miami, Chicago, New York, San Antonio, Los Angeles and San Jose.  The series premieres on September 17 and runs through September 21, with one episode per day.
  •     NBL Second Chance (NBL Segundo Chance)- Ten contestants will compete during a six-week period enduring individual digital/social challenges – all for the opportunity to get into the NBL Academy (Linear Show) from the Digital Zone hosted by Aleyda Ortiz, NBL 2014. The series kicks-off on October 10 through November 8, 2018.
  •     Yass Tropical – Daniela Di Giacomo will host ‘Yass Tropical’ that will recap the very best fashion and looks and trends of the NBL Galas. The series debuts on October 9 and runs through December 4.
  •     NBL Extra – The Gala Recap After show will be hosted Daniela Di Giacomo with guests including NBL winners including Clarissa Molina. NBL Extra will share exclusive insights on the show and its contestants. The 10-episode series begins on September 23 and will stream October 7 right after the linear show.

SOCIAL HIGHLIGHTS

  •     Instagram – From Beauty Queen Takeover, Ex-NBL Queens will do takeovers on IG stories, NBL News, Animated IG stories to promote the editorial content. IG Stories: Interactive posts during and after the show.
  •     Facebook Live with NBL contestants and special segments with NBL coaches, including a series of challenges and Q&As titled “Lo Bueno, Lo Malo, y lo Raro” (The Good, the Bad and the Weird) and confessions from the girls in the competition.
  •     NBL Vlog – Participants will have the opportunity to record moments and activities in their day to day.
  •     Conecta App – For a second screen experience, fans will be able to vote and engage more with NBL via the Conecta App, featuring fun trivia, interactive content and polls and as well as exclusive content.

For NBL’s grand finale, there will be a Digital After show that will be livestreamed on December 2nd.  The last five minutes of the linear show will be simultaneously livestreamed on Facebook, capturing the exciting moment when the NBL winner is announced, then the show will continue on social media. The NBL winner will be showcased in a digital/social after show on a branded set with Univision talents as host sharing exclusive content and insights on the winner.
