2018 “LATIN AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS” on Telemundo

Telemundo announced the complete line-up of performers for the 2018 “Latin American Music Awards” (Latin AMAs). Brazilian superstar Anitta, Latin trap legend Farruko, iconic pop Mexican diva Gloria Trevi, heartthrob singer/songwriter Joss Favela, quintessential Mexican regional group La Arrolladora Banda El Limon de Rene Camacho, social media powerhouse Lele Pons, Venezuelan pop singer Nacho, and legendary Latin urban duo Zion & Lennox will join the list of previously announced performers Alvaro Soler, Banda MS de Sergio Lizarraga, Becky G, Christian Nodal, CNCO, Daddy Yankee, Flo Rida, Leslie Grace, Ludacris, Maluma, Pitbull, Prince Royce and Tini. In addition, the stage of the Latin AMAs will shine when renowned Puerto Rican urban music artists Wisin y Yandel join together again to perform a worldwide television premiere. The Latin AMAs will broadcast live from the prestigious Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California, on Thursday October 25, 2018 at 8pm/7c, and will be preceded by the one-hour carpet pre-show “La Alfombra de Latin AMAs” at 7pm/6c. The three-hour show, which features performances by artists that are relevant to Latinos, regardless of language, will also air simultaneously on Spanish-language entertainment cable network, Universo and in 20 countries throughout the Americas via Telemundo Internacional. Tickets to the awards show are on sale via Ticketmaster and the Dolby Theatre box office.

International pop star from Brazil, Anitta has recorded music in Spanish, English and Portuguese. She has had two songs on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart: “Downtown” with J Balvin and J Balvin’s “Machika” with Jeon. “Machika” also topped the Latin Rhythm airplay chart earlier this year.

Successfully concluding the U.S. leg of his 2018 World tour, popular urban and Latin trap singer/songwriter Farruko has placed 21 songs on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. These included six in the Top 10, “6 AM” by J Balvin featuring Farruko, “Passion Whine” by Farruko featuring Sean Paul, “Sunset” by Farruko featuring Shaggy & Nicky Jam, “Obsesionado”, “Chillax” by Farruko featuring Ky-Mani Marley and “Krippy Kush” by Farruko, Nicki Minaj, Bad Bunny, 21 Savage & Rvssian.

Mexican pop diva Gloria Trevi is working on a brand new concert tour, fresh off the record breaking “Versus” tour with Alejandra Guzman. Gloria has had 12 songs on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. “Con Los Ojos Cerrados,” “Me Siento Tan Sola” and “Cinco Minutos” reached the Top-10. Four of Trevi’s albums went No.1 on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart, Gloria in 2011, El Amor in 2015, Inmortal in 2016 and Versus in 2017.

Mexican regional singer/songwriter Joss Favela has placed five songs on the Billboard Mexican Airplay chart with “Porque No Te Enamoras,” and “Me Hubieras Dicho” reaching the Top-10. His album Hecho a Mano debuted at No. 6 on the Regional Mexican Albums chart in 2016.

La Arrolladora Banda El Limon de Rene Camacho has placed 36 songs on the Billboard Regional Mexican Songs airplay chart, 12 of which went No.1 including the hits “Llamada de Mi Ex” ruling for 19 weeks, and “El Ruido de Tus Zapatos,” which remained 16 weeks at No. 1, and 24 charted titles on Top Latin Albums, four of which hit No. 1. In addition, they have 15 total charted titles on the Regional Mexican Albums chart, five of which went No. 1, including the hits Mas Adelante, ruling for five weeks, Irreversible…2012, and Gracias por Creer, both leading the chart for four weeks.

Venezuelan-American actress, model, social media influencer, singer, and content creator Lele Pons, recently placed two songs on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart this year, “Dicen” and “Celoso.” Lele was ranked #18 on Forbes 30 under 30 list in 2017 with the publication labeling her a “Digital Star.”

Venezuelan artist and political activist Nacho, a former member of the duo Chino & Nacho, went solo a year ago, releasing various singles and collaborations. The music video of his first single as a soloist, titled “Bailame”, launched in April, 2017 and reached a million hits a day after its release. Most recently he was featured on Paulina Rubio’s new song “Desire,” and collaborated with Ozuna on “Casualidad,” which music video exceeded 58 million views in just one month.

Enjoying recent success with chart topping collaborations with Ozuna, Reik and others, are former music partners Wisin y Yandel, who parted ways five years ago after an extraordinary run that led to 21 tracks on the Top 10 of Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart, including ten No. 1 hits, including “Follow The Leader” with Jennifer Lopez and “Algo Me Gusta de Ti” with Christ Brown & T-Pain. As solo artists they were extremely successful with Wisin charting 31 titles on the Hot Latin Songs chart, 29 on Latin Airplay and four on Top Latin Albums; while Yandel charted 28 titles on Hot Latin Songs, 27 on Latin Airplay and six on Top Latin Albums. The legendary Puerto Rican reggaeton duo is making history again, reuniting for their worldwide tour titled “Como Antes” and with plans to release music together.

As one of the long lasting Latin urban music duets, Zion & Lennox continue to be a driving force in the genre. Their successful feature on Enrique Iglesias’ “Subeme La Radio” last year with Descemer Bueno and Sean Paul spent 28 weeks on the Hot Latin Songs chart, peaking at No. 2. Most recently, their collaboration with J Balvin on “No Es Justo” earned them their sixth Hot Latin Songs top 10.
