Argüello named President & GM of Telemundo Denver

The Telemundo Station Group announced that Tatiana Argüello has been named President and General Manager of Telemundo Denver / KDEN. In her new role, Argüello will be responsible for leading all station operations including news/digital, sales, marketing/promotions, human resources, community affairs, and technology/operations. Her first day at KDEN will be May 6. She leaves her role as NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations’ Director of Local and Regional Sales. Argüello will report to Manuel Martinez, President of the Telemundo Station Group.

“Tatiana is a consummate professional. She is smart and driven and thrives on mentoring her teams to achieve successful business outcomes while helping to foster their professional growth,” said Martinez. “I am excited she will lead Telemundo Denver – a station that continuously ranks as the #1 Spanish-language station in Denver among key demos and across our local news and primetime programming periods.”

Argüello returns to Telemundo Denver after launching her career in local broadcast at KDEN as an intern, 18 years ago. Earlier this year, Argüello was promoted to Director of Local and Regional Sales for the NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations division after working as the Telemundo Station Group’s Northeast National Sales Director since 2014. In this role, Argüello managed all northeast national sales operations for the Telemundo owned and affiliate stations, developed new business and created cross-cultural marketing campaigns that helped to grow the station group’s advertising revenue. Before this, Argüello worked as National Sales Manager for Telemundo 47 in New York from 2008 to 2014. Argüello moved to New York after working at KDEN from 2001 to 2008 and holding various roles with increasing responsibility including National Sales Manager for the station.

“I am incredibly honored to return home to Colorado and join the talented team of professionals at Telemundo Denver,” added Argüello. “Together, we will grow our commitment to the Mile High City’s thriving Hispanic community while delivering the high-quality news and content our viewers expect across television, digital, and social media platforms. We will also explore new creative opportunities in close collaboration with our advertising partners to generate innovative and culturally relevant campaigns that are truly responsive to the region’s economic and demographic growth, while also meeting the evolving demands of Denver’s business community. I also want to thank my amazing team in New York for their unyielding support and pursuit of excellence over the past 11 years.”

Argüello is a member of the development program called “She Leads” that was launched by the NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations division in 2018 for high potential NBC/Telemundo owned station female sales leaders to provide them with the mentoring, tools and exposure they need to acquire leadership roles within the owned stations division and NBCUniversal.
