EstrellaTV to produce Star-Studded Mother’s Day Special with Omar Chaparro and Escorpión Dorado

Estrella Media, Inc. announced that its EstrellaTV network will air a two-hour Mother’s Day special on May 10th.

In lieu of its previously planned Mother’s Day concert, EstrellaTV will now air a special edition two-hour star-studded Mother’s Day special on Sunday, May 10 at 7P/6P C. Hosted by Mexican film star Omar Chaparro and EstrellaTV’s own Alex Montiel as Escorpión Dorado (comedian and YouTube influencer), Una Noche a Toda Madre — Un Regalo para Mamá, will include a variety of comedy sketches, artist interviews, performances and special messages to moms and first responders all across the U.S., and a special edition of 100 Madres Dijeron, a spinoff of 100 Latinos Dijeron, EstrellaTV’s Spanish-language version of Family Feud produced by Fremantle, with standup comedian and host Mau Nieto.

“We are extremely grateful to be able to work with such a talented group of artists that all came together to pay tribute and respect to all the moms that are working double and triple duty during these challenging times,” stated Ivan Stoilkovich, EVP, Television Programming for EstrellaTV. “We wanted to create something special for all the moms and give them something entertaining, uplifting and fun.”

The show will feature some of today’s most influential and popular Regional Mexican artists, including Pedro Fernandez, Christian Nodal, Espinoza Paz, El Fantasma, Gerardo Ortiz, Ana Bárbara, Chiquis, Roberto Tapia, Pancho Barraza, Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Carin Leon, Los Huracanes del Norte, and Calibre 50, to name a few.

The two-hour special will conclude with a closing performance by Regional Mexican music legends Espinoza Paz, Pancho Barraza, Gerardo Ortiz, Roberto Tapia, Calibre 50, Los Tucanes de Tijuana and Carin Leon, who will be performing for the first time on national television “Si Se Puede,” an anthem that Estrella Media has adopted as part of its community awareness and empowerment initiative during COVID-19.
