Canela Media launches streaming service

Canela Media announced the launch of Canela.TV, a streaming service designed to connect with the 60 million Hispanics living in the U.S. Through free, culturally relevant, bilingual programming available across Mobile, Connected TV and Web, Canela.TV’s ad-supported model offers brands premium opportunities to reach the nation’s youngest demographic, and largest minority according to Pew Research. With access to more than 8,000 hours of video entertainment for adults and children, including comedies, docuseries, novelas, cartoons, dramas and action films, the platform will be the go-to source for entertainment, disrupting the existing television model.

“We recognize that Hispanics’ viewing habits are rapidly shifting away from traditional Spanish-language television as consumers seek content that better reflects their lifestyle, culture and passion points,” said Isabel Rafferty, CEO and founder at Canela Media. “Digital platforms, and particularly streaming services, offer a unique opportunity for brands to be agile and connect with consumers through targeted content that is contextually and culturally relevant.”
