Telemundo to premier new season of “FALSA IDENTIDAD”

Telemundo announced the premiere date for the anticipated new season of hit series Falsa Identidad (False Identity), slated to premiere on Tuesday, September 22 at 10pm/9C. Led by Luis Ernesto Franco (Señora Acero, Ingobernable) and Camila Sodi (Luis Miguel la Serie, Wild District, Rubí), the thrilling drama also stars Samadhi Zendejas (Mariposa de Barrio, Enemigo Íntimo), Eduardo Yáñez (La Reina del Sur, The Punisher, Wild Things), Sonya Smith (Mi Familia Perfecta,Tierra de Reyes) and Azela Robinson (Cuna de Lobos, Por amar sin ley). In addition to the renowned ensemble, this second installment marks the debut of international pop superstar Dulce María (Rebelde) on Telemundo. Shot in Nebraska, Mexico City and in the northern state of Sonora, Mexico, the new season picks up two years after the suspenseful finale of its first installment, which ended with the escape of Diego (Franco) and Isabel (Sodi) with her children to the United States after intense persecution by Mateo (Yáñez).  This new chapter of the story will find Diego and Isabel, who assumed new identities under the United States Federal Witness Protection Program, trying to start a new life in Nebraska; and while Diego struggles to adapt to his new identity, the change has helped Isabel gain self-confidence to better herself and her family. Nevertheless, an extreme situation in their lives will trigger their return to Mexico, forcing them to face their enemies and unleashing a thrilling pursuit where they will risk it all for justice.

The action-packed drama also features members from the original ensemble including renowned actress Gabriela Roel (Hoy voy a cambiar, Señora Acero), Uriel del Toro (Mariposa de Barrio, Al Otro Lado del Muro), Pepe Gámez (Mariposa de Barrio, Dueños del Paraíso) and welcomes Alexa Martín (Un Poquito Tuyo, Rosario Tijeras) Marco de la O (Rambo: Last Blood, El Chapo), Vanessa Acosta (Soñarás) and Rubén Sanz (El Dragón, Rubí); in addition to special performances by Álvaro Guerrero and Otto Sirgo (Enemigo Íntimo).  

Created by Perla Farías, the new season of Falsa Identidad is directed by Conrado Martínez, Sergio Osorio and Moisés Ortiz-Urquidi. Produced by Argos for Telemundo, the series is written by Perla Farías, Basilio Álvarez, Neida Padilla, Verónica Suárez and Felipe Silva, and is executive produced by Marcos Santana and David Posada for Telemundo and Epigmenio Ibarra for Argos.
