Universo to premiere ‘CLUB MUNDO KIDS’

Universo announced the premiere of a new weekly children’s show, Club Mundo Kids, on Sunday, April 11 at 10:30AM/9:30CT, which will offer preschoolers and young kids the opportunity to explore a range of topics, from the environment and wildlife to space exploration, sports and other relevant issues.  Developed for children ages four to eight, each episode of the multiplatform show incorporates a hybrid of live-action and animated segments led by the show’s bilingual writer and host, Romina Puga.

“We’re thrilled to introduce viewers to Club Mundo Kids, a show we hope will foster the natural curiosity of young children,” said Ronald Day, President of Entertainment and Content for Telemundo and Universo. “We invite families to join their kids in watching this engaging show which encourages learning and also helps children develop their Spanish-language skills.”

Puga will be joined by two puppet correspondents, Maya and Coco, and take young viewers on a journey of exploration and learning about the world around them. The series will feature experts responding to kid-submitted questions. In the upcoming premiere, viewers learn about animals facing extinction, farming and healthy foods. Guests include renowned wildlife expert and photographer Ron Magill and chef and author Lauren Arboleda.

Club Mundo Kids was produced by Exile Content Studio, a film and TV studio that produces premium content in Spanish and English across multiple platforms including TV, film, audio and digital.

“There has been a huge void in the marketplace for quality, family-friendly content in Spanish, especially programming that is aimed at young bicultural kids in the U.S.,” said Alejandro Uribe, CEO of Exile Content Studio. “That’s why, being a parent myself, it is especially gratifying to partner with Universo to help bridge this important content gap and connect Latino children and their caretakers with authentic and informative programming.”

Puga added: “As someone who grew up in the golden age of children’s television, the opportunity to create something that engages the next generation in a way that is inclusive is an absolute dream. I’m excited to introduce and welcome everybody to Club Mundo Kids!”
