Telemundo starts production of “HASTA QUE LA PLATA NOS SEPARE”

Telemundo confirmed the official start of production and cast for the new version of hit Colombian telenovela Hasta que la Plata Nos Separe (Til Money Do Us Part) an RCN Television production for Telemundo. Written by Fernando Gaitán (Yo soy Betty, la Fea, Café con Aroma de Mujer) and currently filming in Bogotá, the series stars Carmen Villalobos (Café con Aroma de Mujer, Sin Senos Si Hay Paraíso, El Señor de los Cielos) and Sebastián Martínez (Pa’ Quererte, Rosario Tijeras). The stellar cast also includes Gregorio Pernía (Así se Baila, Sin Senos Si Hay Paraíso) and Juliette Pardau (Falsa Identidad, La Nieta Elegida) as antagonists, with special performances by renowned Mexican actors Alejandro Tommasi (Quererlo Todo, Por Amar sin Ley) and Laura Flores (Mi Familia Perfecta, Lady of Steel), along with Stephania Duque (Final del Paraíso, La Nieta Elegida), Fabián Ríos (100 Días para Enamorarnos, Final del Paraíso), Julián Arango (Yo soy Betty, la Fea, Narcos) and Lorna Cepeda (Yo soy Betty, la Fea, Pa’ Quererte). The series will air on Telemundo later this year.

This dramatic comedy tells the love story of Rafael Méndez (Martínez), a charismatic and humble salesman, and Alejandra Maldonado (Villalobos), a successful high-ranking executive, whose accidental meeting causes a clash of emotions that will ultimately turn their lives completely upside down. Rafael Méndez (Martínez) is a dynamic salesman of humble origins who sells a variety of household items, while Alejandra Maldonado (Villalobos), a woman of aristocratic descent, is the successful Commercial Manager of the Ramenautos car dealership. Rafael is currently in a relationship with Vicky Pardo (Pardau), a jealous sexy neighbor, and Alejandra is about to marry Luciano Valenzuela (Pernía), her prince charming. But one fine day, fate crosses Alejandra with Rafael in a tragic car accident and, from then on, their lives and those of the people close to them will never be the same. Rafael will have to do everything possible to pay off the debt Alejandra incurred from the accident, and this bond will lead them to fall in love despite their socioeconomic differences. However, the circumstances and their respective families and partners will do the impossible to hinder their love, but in the end, will true love keep them together, or will they allow money to separate them?

Hasta que la Plata Nos Separe (Til Money Do Us Part) is a production of RCN Television for Telemundo inspired by the original story written by Fernando Gaitán. This new version was adapted by Juan Carlos Pérez Flores who was also in charge of the script together with Patricia Rodríguez Reyes. Directed by Israel Sánchez and Olga Lucía Rodríguez, the series is produced by Yalile Giordanelli.
