Carlos Moreno joins MundoNow as Senior Executive Producer

MundoNow announced the appointment of Carlos Moreno to Senior Executive Producer. In addition to his excellent coverage of breaking news that affects the Hispanic community, Mr. Moreno will also spearhead content creation around two critical, yet underserved platform verticals: MundoMejor, an original series of inspirational stories that focus on the good in this world, and MundoPride, an LGBTQ+ bilingual news and culture portal that will focus on Latino stories centered on living life proud. Moreno will be based in Denver, Colorado, where he will closely monitor stories and news from across the U.S.

Moreno rejoins the ranks of MundoNow’s digital network, having previously worked as a national correspondent for Mundo Hispanico from 2016-2019. MundoNow recently rebranded to serve the rapidly growing U.S. Latino population that identifies as Spanish-dominant, bilingual, bicultural or English-language preferred, and is seeking culturally-focused content that reflects the entirety of the Latino community.

“We’re excited to welcome Carlos to the MundoNow team,” said MundoNow CEO Rene Alegria. “This is another key step for our platform, as Carlos has built a strong connection with his audience and will deliver an unparalleled reporting experience across crucial, yet underserved verticals, including optimistic inspirational stories and Latino-centric LGBTQ+ insight. A decorated reporter and producer, Carlos further strengthens our growing and respected digital media roster that is centered on developing and delivering compelling, informative, and engaging content to bilingual and bicultural Latinos. A large and significantly underserved audience nationally, we intend to serve our community by hiring the best among us.”

With a decade of media experience, Venezuelan-born Moreno is an established and decorated reporter and producer. In his most recent role at Entravision, he led a multitude of initiatives, including reporter for Univision Colorado, backup anchor for the Kansas market, and collaborator for Noticiero Univision national news, the morning news program Despierta America, and the evening news program Primer Impacto. Moreno launched his U.S. journalism career through digital reporting for the Nuevo Georgia newspaper, before joining the Telemundo Atlanta team as a reporter.

In addition to his national reporting presence, Moreno has excelled with his own independent digital reporting channel “Carlos Moreno Reporta”, which streams on multiple platforms to thousands of fans spanning across the Western U.S. Moreno has garnered over 10 Emmy Awards, including “Best Live Reporter” with Univision, Telemundo, and his own digital media platform.

“MundoNow provides me with a tremendous platform to pursue what I am passionate about and serve my audience. Reporting and producing relevant news for the Hispanic community has always been my priority and MundoNow is a leader in delivering the right content to bicultural and bilingual viewers,” said Moreno. “This is a unique opportunity to inform my audience and produce content that has been under-reported on and rarely delivered correctly, specifically feel-good stories and LGBTQ+ news. I look forward to bringing my insights and expertise to the platform and continuing to expand MundoNow’s audience.”
