Telemundo presents “LA PARADA PUERTORRIQUEÑA” live from San Juan, PR

On Saturday, May 18, beginning at 3:30 pm ET/12:30 pm PT, Telemundo Puerto Rico / WKAQ and Junte Boricua will lead the first “Parada Puertorriqueña” in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Telemundo-owned stations serving Orlando, Tampa and Fort Myers, Fla., along with their digital properties, and Telemundo’s regional streaming news (FAST) channels, will also join the extensive live coverage of the event.
“This historic broadcast will not only serve as a connecting point for all Puerto Ricans, but also as an opportunity to showcase the richness of Boricua culture to the great Hispanic community in the United States,” said José Cancela, president of Telemundo Station Group.
“La Parada Puertorriqueña” aims to highlight the rich culture and heritage that Puerto Rico has given to the world. Organized by Junte Boricua, and the Puerto Rico Tourism Company, the parade is just one of many festivities planned to take place across the island from May 1 to August 31.
The coverage of the parade will be simulcast on Telemundo 31 Orlando / WTMO, Telemundo 49 Tampa / WRMD and Telemundo Ft. Myers / WWDT and the stations’ digital platforms, including their websites, mobile apps and OTT platforms. The event will also be streamed nationally on Telemundo’s regional news FAST (free ad-supported streaming TV) channels: Noticias Telemundo California, Noticias Telemundo Florida, Noticias Telemundo Noreste and Noticias Telemundo Texas.
The four FAST channels, which are available on leading streaming services and connected TV (CTV) platforms, deliver 24/7 local news, weather, lifestyle programming, consumer and investigative reporting, and original content nationwide.
Following the parade, WKAQ’s newscast, Telenoticias 5 pm, will air on Telemundo stations in Orlando, Tampa and Fort Myers, as well as the FAST channels to provide expanded coverage of the festivities.
