Telemundo’s EL PODER EN TI announces “TU TIENES EL PODER. VOTA”

Commemorating National Voter Registration Day, NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises announced the launch of its new civic engagement Get Out The Vote (GOTV) initiative “Tu Tienes el Poder. Vota.” Under the umbrella of the company’s award-winning community impact platform El Poder en Ti, the civic engagement program is part of Decision 2024, Telemundo’s multiplatform news and civic engagement campaign launched earlier in the year across Telemundo’s network, Telemundo Stations Group, digital platforms, and national and local partner events.

Driving “Tu Tienes el Poder. Vota.”, the company unveiled a new public service announcement encouraging Latinos to register to vote and participate in the upcoming Fall elections. This impactful PSA brings together Telemundo’s most recognized talent from hit shows like En Casa con Telemundo, La Mesa Caliente, Hoy Dia, and El Rojo Vivo. With a powerful call to action, the PSA highlights the growing influence of Latino voters and their crucial role in shaping the nation’s future. Through inspiring messages, it encourages the Latino community to make their voices heard by registering to vote and participating in the upcoming elections. By celebrating the collective strength of Latino voices, Telemundo continues to champion civic engagement and the importance of every vote. Watch the PSA here.

“Latinos hold immense power in shaping the future of our country,” said Christina Kolbjornsen, Senior Vice President of Corporate and External Affairs at NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises. “With more Latinos than ever engaging in the electoral process and making informed decisions, we are driving meaningful change. This campaign and new PSA reflects Telemundo’s dedication to engaging voters with objective information, enhancing civic participation, and ensuring that every voice is heard.”

This fall, Telemundo and its community partners will host a series of impactful events across the country featuring nationally acclaimed talent, to promote civic engagement and inform communities nationwide about the importance of voting. These events will take place across major cities, including New York, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Denver, Charlotte, and Phoenix, bringing together influential national and local partners to emphasize voter registration, mobilize get-out-the-vote efforts, and provide essential election information. This significant election season initiative will culminate in comprehensive Election Night coverage, broadcast from Telemundo Center’s state-of-the-art headquarters in Miami.

Latinos represent the second-largest and one of the fastest-growing voting blocs in the United States. This year, approximately 36.2 million Latinos will be eligible to vote in the November elections, an increase from 32.2 million in 2020. Decisión 2024 highlights the crucial influence Latino voters will have in the presidential race, as well as in congressional, state, and local elections. Latinos are projected to make up nearly 15 percent of all eligible voters—a historic high—with substantial growth anticipated in key battleground states. Young Latinos are driving this expansion, with over 100 Latinos turning 18 every hour, and around 30 percent of eligible Hispanic voters now aged 18 to 29. Latino voters will head to the polls just two years after a record turnout in the 2022 midterm elections.

“Decisión 2024” builds on Telemundo’s long-standing commitment to promoting civic engagement, continuing this legacy through initiatives like the popular NBC News/Telemundo interactive tool, Planifica Tu Voto / Plan Your Vote.Planifica Tu Voto offers a comprehensive, state-by-state guide on voting rules, highlighting key updates since the 2022 midterms, including registration deadlines, mail-in voting, early in-person voting and ID requirements. The tool is available at PlanificaTuVoto.com and in English at NBCNews.com/PlanYourVote. Developed and powered by the NBC News Data Graphics team, the tool is kept current with the latest real-time information provided by the NBC News Decision Desk and politics team. Noticias Telemundo has also expanded its news programming with the launch of Noticias Telemundo Ahora, a 24/7 FAST channel with original streaming-only news content every day including breaking news, in-depth reports on topics underreported in English-language media and a special focus on Decisión 2024.

In addition to offering expanded election news and campaign coverage, including in-depth national and local Latino voter polls and town halls, Noticias Telemundo is building on its effort to help combat Spanish-language disinformation and misinformation about the 2024 races.
