Telemundo Tips Off Spanish-Language Coverage of NBA’s “Sunday Night Basketball” 

Telemundo kicks off Spanish-language coverage of the NBA for the 2025-26 seasonmarking the league’s return to Telemundo for the first time in more than 20 years. Throughout the season, Telemundo Deportes will deliver premium NBA coverage across Telemundo and Peacock, featuring primetime matchups and tentpole events that celebrate the league’s biggest stars and moments, reinforcing the network’s commitment to live sports en español. 

NBA action begins Sunday, February 1, with a primetime doubleheader featuring the Los Angeles Lakers at the New York Knicks, followed by the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Denver Nuggets. Coverage starts at 6:00 p.m. ET / 3:00 p.m. PT with a one-hour pregame show, marking the launch of NBC Sports’ Sunday Night Basketball across NBC, Peacock, and Telemundo. 

The momentum continues on Sunday, February 15, when Telemundo and Peacock present exclusive Spanish-language coverage of the 2026 NBA All-Star Game, live from Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Californiaas part of NBA All-Star Weekend (February 13–15). The All-Star Game will feature a new round-robin tournament formatbringing added excitement to one of the NBA’s most anticipated events.  

Sunday Night Basketball will pause on February 8 and February 15, due to NBC Sports’ coverage of Super Bowl LX, the NBA All-Star Game, and the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, before resuming on February 22 and continuing through April 5. 

2026 NBA All-Star Game Format 

The 2026 NBA All-Star Game will feature three teams — two teams of U.S. players and one international “World Team” — competing in a round-robin tournament of four 12-minute games. The top two teams by record will advance to the championship game, with point differential serving as the tiebreaker if all teams finish 1–1. 

Telemundo NBA Commentary Team 

Telemundo’s NBA coverage will be led by legendary play-by-play announcer Álvaro Martín, alongside analysts Greivis Vásquez, former NBA player and Venezuelan national team standout, and Diego Balado, a renowned international sports analyst. Diego Arrioja will serve as courtside reporter, while Emmy Award–winning host Adriana Monsalve will anchor the pregame, halftime, and postgame coverage. 

The commentary trio debuted together during the 2025 NBA Mexico City Game between the Dallas Mavericks and Detroit Pistons live from Arena CDMX bringing courtside insight and global perspective to Telemundo’s NBA presentation.
