Doing Business: U.S. vs. Latino (Mexican) Approach

By Félix J. Medina – Winning the Latino Market

After working in business on both sides for many years, I’ve noticed something important.

In many U.S. business environments, the approach is often:

  • direct
  • fast
  • ttransaction-focused
  • efficiency first

In many Latino (especially Mexican) business environments, the approach tends to be:

  • relationship-driven
  • trust-first
  • conversations before transaction
  • long-term loyalty

Neither approach is better.

They are simply different operating systems.

The challenge is that when companies try to grow in Latino markets, they often apply the same strategy they use for everyone else.

And that’s where friction happens.

Because in Latino markets:

  • Trust opens the door.
  • Relationships accelerate the deal.
  • Community sustains the business.

Understanding this difference isn’t just cultural awareness.

It’s business strategy.

Companies that recognize this unlock markets many others never reach.

What trends have you seen while doing business with Latinos?
