el diario / LA PRENSA in New York celebrated the National Puerto Rican Day Parade, sponsoring two impressive floats; el diario / LA PRENSA’s, and the Urban SOFRITO float, representing el diario’s new monthly bilingual supplement, sponsored by Rumba 107.1 and Rincon Musical. Amongst the guests joining el diario aboard the floats were former Bronx Borough President Fernando Ferrer; candidate for governor of New York State, State Comptroller Carl McCall; renowned Salsa Star Tito Rojas, and the Fuerza Juvenil band.

"el diario / LA PRENSA, 'El Campeón de los Hispanos' is proud of being part of this important celebration since its beginnings back in the late 1950’s, before it became a national event almost a decade ago. Although demographics have changed, locally and nationwide, el diario continues to serve Puerto Ricans as well as all Latinos in the Northeast of the US, and proudly recognizes and celebrates the numerous contributions of these pioneers to the emerging diverse US/Latino community, and to this nation," said Rossana Rosado, Publisher & CEO.
