Radio Unica Airs ‘Honor Latino’.

Radio Unica announced “Honor Latino”, a new segment that highlights notable and distinguished Hispanic entrepreneurs located across the United States. These six-minute series of interviews will be broadcast every Friday during the last hour of Sevcec en Vivo, which airs weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (EST).

Hosted by veteran broadcast journalist Pedro Sevcec, the first interview debut on March 23 with Mexican-born Maria de Lourdes Sobrino, president and CEO of Lulu’s Dessert Factory. Sobrino’s company, located in Vernon, California, manufactures and distributes a wide variety of ready-to-eat gelatin based desserts targeted to the Hispanic market throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. Lulu’s Dessert Factory has some 100 employees and $7.5 million in revenues.

Jose C. Cancela, president of Radio Unica, commented on today’s announcement, “The idea behind creating this segment is to provide listeners not only with programming that’s diverse and entertaining, but programming that’s motivating.” “Maria de Lourdes, as well as many other influential Hispanics, has a unique story to tell and it’s one that we’re happy to share with our listeners,” he added.

Radio Unica’s second and third interview aired on the network on April 27, and featured José Medellín, president and CEO of San Antonio Press, Inc., and on May 3 with Erwin Mendoza, president and CEO of High Light Electric.
