In weekday prime time, WSCV-TV delivered 3 of the top 10 prime time shows in Miami among the sought-after adults 18-49 demographic. TELEMUNDO’s “Betty La Fea” and “¿Por Que Diablos?” grabbed the #2 and #3 spots, respectively, beating high-profile “Friends”, “E.R.”, the “American Music Awards” and all Univision prime time programs. In fact, WSCV-TV’s “Betty La Fea” (M-F 8PM-9PM) and “¿Por Que Diablos?” (M-F 9PM-10PM) were both #1 in their respective time periods. “Betty” achieved an impressive 10.7 Adult 18-49 Rtg., more than doubling runner-up WSVN-TV’s weekday prime time delivery of a 4.7 Adult 18-49 Rtg. “¿Por Que Diablos?” was also a clear winner in its time period, delivering a 7.6 Adult 18-49 Rtg. TELEMUNDO’s main competitor, Univision, fell to 3rd place in both mentioned time periods.

WSCV-TV’s success in the first measurement of the year 2001 extended to other key dayparts. Miami elected a new queen of talk – TELEMUNDO’s “Laura en America” (M-F 4PM-5PM) is the #1 show, outperforming all other English- and Spanish-language programming in the time period

WSCV-TV’s local newscast “Noticiero 51” (M-F 6PM-6:30PM) showed tremendous year-to-year and book-to-book growth among all adult demographics. For instance, adult 18-49 ratings increased by 82% from last January ’00. Even compared with November ’00, the last Nielsen measurement period, “Noticiero 51” is up 43% among adults 18-49.
