Telemundo Deportes announced its coverage plans for the 2021 NFL season, beginning Thursday, September 9 at 8 p.m. ET, live on Universo, TelemundoDeportes.com and the Telemundo Deportes app with NFL Kickoff 2021 featuring Tom Brady and the Super Bowl-champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers facing Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys. The game will be followed three days later by the season opener of Sunday Night Football featuring the Los Angeles Rams vs. Chicago Bears, live on Universo, TelemundoDeportes.com and the Telemundo Deportes app on Sunday, September 12 with coverage beginning at 8 p.m. ET.

Through the 2021 NFL season, Telemundo Deportes will again carry the entire NBC Sunday Night Football package, including exclusive Spanish-language coverage of Super Bowl LVI, live for the first time on the Telemundo Network – marking the first time ever that a Super Bowl will be televised on a Spanish-language broadcast network in the U.S. The package also includes 20 regular season games that will be televised on Universo, including the NFL Kickoff game, the Thanksgiving prime time game, a Wild Card game, and one Divisional Playoff game. In addition, Telemundo Network will broadcast the Sunday primetime Wild Card game. All games will also be available on live stream via TelemundoDeportes.com and the Telemundo Deportes app.

“As the Spanish-language home of Sunday Night Football for the next 13 years, we look forward to presenting the 2021 season to the growing NFL Hispanic fans, culminating with Super Bowl LVI,” said Ray Warren, President of Telemundo Deportes. “We are thrilled to enhance our presentation of the games with more studio content across platforms and NFL experts, providing Hispanic fans more opportunities to engage with NFL content that is relevant and tailored to them.”

Telemundo Deportes’ coverage will be led by Sports Emmy-award winning Miguel Gurwitz, returning to host the studio show with NFL analyst Jorge Andres, who will also serve as game analyst. Former Arizona Cardinals offensive guard Rolando Cantu is also back to serve as analyst for select games. Joining the team will be KSTS Telemundo 48 sports anchor Carlos Mauricio Ramirez, who will serve as the new play-by-play commentator. In addition, TYM and En Casa con Telemundo’s anchor, Ana Jurka, will join the studio coverage on select games throughout the season to present special segments featuring women across the NFL organization, as well as lead-up content ahead of Telemundo’s Super Bowl coverage. Telemundo Deportes’ Rene Giraldo and Edgar Lopez will also continue to provide SAP call in Spanish-language for NBC’s Sunday Night Football broadcasts throughout the season.
